01
Estimates & Pricing.
How much does a new roof cost in the Tri-Cities?
It depends on pitch, layers to tear off, decking condition, ventilation upgrades, and product selection. We give written, itemized estimates so you see exactly where every dollar goes — and the on-site inspection is free. Call (423) 549-2065 to schedule.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free, take about 20 minutes on-site, and arrive in your inbox the same day as an itemized written PDF.
How long is an estimate good for?
30 days. After that, material costs may have shifted and we may need to re-quote materials at current pricing — labor and overhead stay the same.
Why are some quotes so much lower than yours?
Three reasons: (1) they’re skipping items we include (ice-and-water shield, drip edge, code-required ventilation, full underlayment); (2) they’re using lower-tier materials or generic accessories; (3) they don’t have full insurance or licensing. Ask any contractor for a side-by-side line-item comparison. The honest ones will provide it.
Do you offer discounts?
No promo codes or gimmicks. Our cash price equals our financed price. We do not discount the deductible on insurance jobs (it’s illegal in TN). If a competitor is offering 30% off, ask what they’re cutting.
02
Process & Timeline.
How long does a replacement take?
A typical asphalt replacement on a 2,500 sq. ft. home is 1–2 days on-site. Standing-seam metal: 4–8 days depending on complexity. Repairs vary — some are finished the same day, larger or material-dependent jobs are scoped on-site and scheduled. Weather can push the schedule but never the install quality — we don’t install in rain.
How far out are you scheduled?
We usually get to routine replacements fairly soon — we'll give you a real date once the estimate's written. Emergency repairs go to the front of the line; call us if you have an active leak.
Do I need to be home during the install?
No. Most customers go to work normally. We do ask that you move vehicles away from the driveway and patio furniture away from the house.
What about my landscaping?
We tarp every plant bed adjacent to the house. Crew lead checks the perimeter before they leave each day. If anything in your yard does get damaged during the install, that’s on us — we make it right.
03
Insurance & Storm Damage.
Will my insurance cover a new roof?
If your roof was damaged by a covered peril (hail, wind, tree impact, etc.) — likely yes. If it’s end-of-life wear and tear — no. See our claims page for what carriers typically cover.
Should I file the claim before getting an estimate?
No. Have us inspect first. A meaningful share of "storm damage" calls we look at don’t have coverable damage — it’s wear and tear, not a covered peril. Filing a claim that gets denied creates a claim event on your record without benefit.
Will filing a claim raise my premium?
Every carrier handles it differently — your agent is the right person to ask. We won’t speculate on what your specific premium will do.
Can you pay my deductible?
No, and any contractor who offers to is putting your coverage at risk. Tennessee law (Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-6-518) makes it a Class A misdemeanor for a roofing contractor to advertise, offer, or pay an insurance deductible on a homeowner’s behalf — and a separate insurance-code statute (§ 56-7-2602) prohibits deductible rebating more broadly.
04
Materials & Products.
What shingles do you install?
Our default shingle is Atlas Pinnacle Pristine (architectural) with the option to step up to StormMaster Shake (Class 4 impact-rated). We can install Owens Corning, GAF, or CertainTeed by request.
Asphalt or metal?
Asphalt: lower upfront cost, long material life on system installs, easier insurance replacement. Metal: longer lifespan than asphalt (typically 2× under TN conditions), higher upfront (roughly 1.6–2.2× comparable asphalt), best for steep architectural homes and ridge lines you’ll never want to deal with again. Most TN homes are well-served by Class 4 asphalt.
What’s "Class 4"?
A UL 2218 rating — the shingle survives a 2" steel ball dropped from 20 feet, twice, on the same spot, with no mat fracture. Most TN insurers discount premiums 5–28% on Class 4 installs.
Will you re-roof over the existing shingles?
We prefer not to. A layer-over doesn’t necessarily void the manufacturer warranty, but nailing new shingles into old ones hides rot, adds weight, and traps heat. We tear off to the deck on every Palisade install.
Do you do TPO or flat roofs?
Residential pitched roofs are our focus. For low-slope residential porches we install TPO with welded seams. We don’t do commercial flat-roof work.
05
Warranty & After-Sale.
What’s your warranty?
Two layers, from two different sources. (1) The shingle (or panel) material warranty is published by the manufacturer themselves — Atlas for asphalt, the panel manufacturer for metal. Specific terms vary by product line and installation system, and the manufacturer is the authoritative source for those terms (they update them periodically). We share the current manufacturer warranty document with you before you sign. (2) The workmanship warranty is ours: 10-year Palisade workmanship warranty covering all installation defects, in writing, on every replacement — asphalt or metal. (Repairs are quoted as a fixed-price scope; warranty terms are stated on each individual repair estimate.)
What if I have a leak after install?
Call us. (423) 549-2065. We respond fast to active leaks. Christian does every warranty inspection personally.
Do you do maintenance / annual checks?
We don’t run a formal annual-maintenance program. Most homeowners don’t need one on a recent Palisade install. If you ever want a check, give us a call.
